EmberTrack: One RV Space, Almost Endless Possibilities

When most people walk through an RV, every space already seems to have a job. There is the dinette, bedroom, pantry, storage area and, in many family floorplans, the bunk room. But what if one part of your RV didn't have to serve just one purpose? What if the same space that provides sleeping room for the kids or grandkids one weekend could become an organized fishing station, ski gear area, mobile office or adventure storage center the next? That is where EmberTrack becomes one of the most interesting and versatile features available in select Ember RV floorplans.
The Little Connector That Makes a Big Difference
At first glance, EmberTrack looks fairly simple. E-Track rails run vertically along the walls of the EmberTrack area, but the real magic happens where the accessories connect to those rails. Ember calls one of the key pieces an E-Track Support Catch. The catch mounts directly into the slots in the E-Track, allowing its height to be changed. A platform support is then placed into the catches and secured with a cotter pin. By changing the location of those catches, the platforms can be repositioned into different configurations.
That relatively simple concept is what allows Ember to transform the space. Ember describes EmberTrack as a highly configurable support system using universal connectors, and its owner's manual specifically explains that the standard double-bunk arrangement can be reconfigured for uses including a desk, table, shelving or countertop space. In other words, the system isn't simply about removing a bunk. It gives the owner a framework for rebuilding the space around what they need for a particular trip.
Then Comes the World of E-Track Accessories
This is where EmberTrack becomes even more interesting. Ember isn't using an obscure attachment system that exists only inside its RVs. EmberTrack incorporates standard E-Track, a widely used cargo-management system, which means there is an enormous selection of E-Track fittings, connectors and accessories available from third-party manufacturers and retailers.
Search online for E-Track accessories and you'll quickly discover how extensive the ecosystem has become. There are simple E-fittings that create attachment points, D-rings, O-rings, rope tie-offs, wood-beam sockets, cargo bags and many other accessories designed to lock into standard E-Track. There are also accessory manufacturers offering hooks, baskets, holders, straps and specialty storage solutions. Not every accessory will be appropriate for an RV interior or every EmberTrack installation, and owners should always consider Ember's instructions, attachment limits and safe travel practices, but the possibilities for organizing the space go far beyond the components that originally come with the camper.
Some of the accessory categories an Ember owner can explore include:
E-Track fittings and anchors that create removable attachment points for straps, cords and other accessories.
D-ring and O-ring fittings that provide convenient removable anchor points.
Hooks and utility hangers for appropriate lightweight equipment such as clothing, bags, helmets and other camping gear.
Basket and storage accessories that can help organize smaller items instead of having them spread across the RV.
Cargo bags and organizers designed specifically to connect to E-Track.
Straps and tie-down fittings that can help organize appropriate equipment while traveling when used within applicable limits.
Wood-beam sockets and similar fittings that demonstrate just how adaptable standard E-Track has become.
Specialty holders and mounts that can create dedicated locations for particular types of recreational equipment.
That aftermarket ecosystem changes how you should think about EmberTrack. You're not necessarily limited to asking, “What did Ember give me with this RV?” You can also start asking, “What can I safely connect to this system to make it work better for the way I camp?”
From Bunk Room to Family Headquarters
Imagine leaving Outpost Outfitters on a Friday afternoon with the kids or grandkids. Sleeping capacity is the priority, so the EmberTrack area is configured around its bunk platforms. A few weeks later, only two people are traveling and those extra sleeping spaces aren't necessary. The catches and platforms can be repositioned, changing how that same area is used. Now it could provide shelving, a table or organized equipment space instead of remaining a room dominated by unused beds.
Add thoughtfully selected compatible E-Track accessories and another layer of organization becomes possible. Backpacks could have designated locations, helmets could be kept together and smaller camping supplies could be organized rather than piled on the floor. The objective isn't to fill every E-Track slot with another gadget. It is to make the space work for the people using the RV.
Monday Morning Doesn't Necessarily Mean Going Home
For someone who can work remotely, the same EmberTrack area takes on an entirely different personality. A platform can be positioned to serve as a desk or work surface, something Ember specifically identifies as one of the system's possible configurations. Your laptop, electronics and work essentials can have a temporary home while you're at the campground. Appropriate E-Track organizers could provide additional places for cables, headphones, camera equipment or other small items.
Suddenly, the area that was a bunk space during the family vacation has become your campground office. When the work is finished, it doesn't have to remain an office. The system can be changed again for the next adventure.
Saturday Morning, We're Going Fishing
Now take the same RV north for a fishing weekend. Rods, tackle boxes, waders, boots, nets, life jackets, dry bags and electronics have an amazing ability to consume available RV space. EmberTrack gives you a framework for organizing some of that equipment differently.
The platforms can provide shelving and work surfaces, while compatible E-Track accessories can potentially provide designated locations for appropriate gear. A removable E-Track ring might provide an attachment point, an organizer could hold smaller equipment, and hooks or holders could keep appropriate lightweight gear accessible. Instead of everything ending up in a pile, the space can be organized around the adventure.

What Does Your Adventure Look Like?
This is where EmberTrack becomes less about RV specifications and more about imagination. New England RV owners camp for very different reasons, and the equipment they bring changes dramatically from one adventure to another.
Family Camping: Configure the EmberTrack platforms around sleeping accommodations, then reorganize the space when fewer people are traveling.
Fishing: Create organized areas for tackle, waders, boots, nets, life jackets, dry bags and other fishing equipment.
Skiing & Snowboarding: Use compatible hooks, organizers and storage areas for helmets, boots, outerwear, gloves and winter equipment.
Cycling: Create locations for helmets, shoes, pumps, tools, hydration packs and riding equipment.
Kayaking & Boating: Organize PFDs, dry bags, paddling accessories and other appropriate water-sports equipment.
Remote Work: Reposition a platform as a desk and use organizers for electronics, cords and office essentials.
Photography: Build a mobile gear station for camera bags, tripods, drone cases, batteries and charging equipment.
Traveling With Dogs: Create an organized area for leashes, harnesses, towels, food containers, toys and other pet-travel supplies.
Hiking & Camping: Give backpacks, boots, trekking equipment, rain gear and camping supplies dedicated places instead of allowing them to take over the RV.
One RV Through Four New England Seasons
Here in Maine and throughout New England, that versatility makes even more sense because our adventures can change dramatically with the seasons. July might mean kayaks, fishing equipment and bicycles. October could mean hiking boots, backpacks and camera equipment for a weekend chasing Maine foliage. January might bring skis, snowboards, helmets and winter clothing, while the following summer could bring the grandchildren and the need for additional sleeping space.
The equipment changes. The people traveling with you change. Your hobbies may change. Traditionally, the floorplan of your RV doesn't change with them. EmberTrack provides an opportunity to make a portion of that floorplan more adaptable, and the availability of standard E-Track fittings and accessories expands the possibilities even further.
Your EmberTrack Doesn't Have to Look Like Anyone Else's
Perhaps this is what makes the system most interesting. Two people could purchase the same Ember floorplan and eventually have completely different EmberTrack setups. One owner might keep the original bunk configuration most of the season because the grandchildren are always coming along. Another could create a mobile office. Someone else might build an organized fishing and kayaking setup, while another owner could dedicate much of the space to cycling, skiing or traveling with dogs.
The E-Track connection system is what helps make those possibilities practical. Move the appropriate support catches, reposition the Ember components and explore compatible standard E-Track accessories, and the purpose of the space can evolve with your lifestyle.
What Would You Build With EmberTrack?
When you see EmberTrack for the first time, don't just look at the bunks. Look at the tracks running along the walls. Look at the catches and how the platforms connect. Then imagine the enormous variety of E-Track fittings, hooks, rings, organizers, bags and other accessories available and start thinking about your own adventures.
Maybe you see three bunks for the kids. Maybe you see a fishing headquarters, ski station, mobile office, cycling basecamp or organized space for traveling with your dogs. Someone else may look at exactly the same EmberTrack area and come up with something none of us has considered yet.
That's the fun of EmberTrack.
If you've never experienced the system in person, come walk through an Ember RV with us at Outpost Outfitters. Tell us what you do outside, what you bring with you and where you want to go. We'll show you how EmberTrack works and help you start imagining what that space could become.
